Don't Be a Lab Bully?

Well folks, I can tell you my Pit Bull is mad at me right now. This morning I was woken up at 7:35 when my boyfriend found a very cold, hungry black lab outside of our apartment. Addie is not mad because I'm hanging with another dog, she is mad that I won't let her meet her. You see, Addie loves dogs. She doesn't have any dog aggression. She just gets a little too excited and jumps around like a chicken with her head cut off when in the presence of other dogs. Other dogs typically don't like her and I don't blame them. I wouldn't want another human jumping around and licking me all over when we first meet. I have found most dogs to be scared of her. It's something we're still working on. She's still only one year old and has some of those puppy instincts. This lab seems very nice but I don't want to make her uncomfortable while she stays. Unfortunately, she has no tag but has a collar and a choke collar. I'm hoping she is chipped because I will not feel very comfortable just leaving her somewhere when we don't know where she belongs. I'll probably call every 5 hours to see if her family has come to get her.

She is very good dog and did a very good job alerting me when she needed to go to the bathroom. So nice and so cute! I wish I knew her name! If you are a Macomb-area reader and know of anyone missing their black lab, let me know ASAP! :)

Happy Pit Bull Awareness Day

It's Pit Bull Awareness Day! :) Unfortunately I didn't get to spend the day with my Pittie but that's okay I will see her later! What is everyone doing for Pit Bull Awareness Day?!

I haven't gotten to do an I'd Like You to Meet in a LONG time. I've been quite busy so I haven't really been asking to do one. I would like to do one soon! It's time to feature a nice Pittie. If you would like to submit your Pit Bull to be featured send me an email at If you want to see examples of some I've already done click on the label at the end of this post that says I'd Like You to Meet. Any questions, email me! :) If you do submit your dog they will be seen by many readers across the US and the World so start sending those emails! :) This is a great way to show how good our dogs are!

What a monster... ;)

Before you go, watch this video about the history of Pit Bulls. It's great! :)

Pit Bull Awareness Day

For those of you who don't already know, this coming Saturday is Pit Bull Awareness day! This is a great time to get out there and talk about pitties and how great they really are. You can view a little bit about the history of Pit Bull awareness day and the events going on around the nation by clicking here.

Unfortunately my Pit Bull is not with me in Chicago but if she were I think I would station myself with her somewhere on Michigan Avenue with a huge sign saying ASK ME ABOUT MY PIT BULL! Maybe this will happen in future years.

What are your plans for PIt Bull Awareness Day?

Find the Pit Bull

This is pretty cool and pretty informative of how people commonly mis-identify dogs for Pit Bulls. Click on the link below and you will see a number of dogs. Only one of them is an American Pit Bull Terrier see if you can find him by clicking on the pictures. I even got it wrong! Let me know how you did!

Addie Attacks

Today Addie attacked my sister, Amber. She got really hyper and pinned her down and just went at her...

with KISSES. :)

This weekend I traveled an hour away from Chicago to my best friend Allison's townhouse! She got married this weekend and I was in the bridal party! We all had an amazing time and I am so happy for her and her HUSBAND Ben! Anyways, on the train there I was super bored so I compiled some of my pictures of Addie and made a slideshow. Yeah, I am kind of lame. Anyways, I thought I would share it! Enjoy.

Happy 1st Birthday, Addie!

Yesterday was Addie's birthday! She is 1 year old now! :)

Addie has changed my life so much in the past year. Before taking her in I didn't have any problems with Pit Bulls but of course I had heard all of the stereotypes. Brett and I decided to not listen the stereotypes and I am so glad that we didn't. She has proved to so many people how good Pitties actually are and I write this blog because I feel that I need to prove it to the other people she can not reach. She has taught me that Pit Bulls are loving, caring, adorable, and funny big babies! This past year has been fun, and exciting as well as difficult. Raising a puppy is extremely difficult but it has been worth every minute.

There are so many Pit Bulls out there that are on Death Row and need to be rescued. Some of them have had horrible pasts and are looking for good futures. If you are looking for a dog, seriously look at a Pit Bull. They are sweet babies and deserve the best just like EVERY OTHER DOG.
