Two Sides to EVERY Story
A poor 5-year-old girl lost her life due to the ignorance of a irresponsible Pit Bull owner. The girl was attacked and killed by two Pit Bulls on January 7th, and her grandmother was severely injured when trying to help her. It's a terrible story...stories I hate to read about. It's just another story I have to argue about when I am out in the world trying to help Pit Bulls. BUT, there are always two sides to every story and there is for this one as well.
Turns out, these dogs were very well known around the neighborhood. They belonged to Michael Gordon, 23, who was released from prison last May for felony charges. The female dog, Daisy, was reported to be "so emaciated that she looked like she shouldn't be alive." The dogs were seen either roaming the streets searching for food, or secured on a chain. Either way, neither are good for these dogs. Daisy was also said to have had puppies recently and just left out to fend for herself.
When a neighbor called Animal Control they claimed that there was nothing that they could do.
These dogs were abused and treated poorly and unfortunately a little girl had to die. Where was animal control and why couldn't they do anything? This little girl did not have to die. Neither did the dogs. But they were punished because their "owner" is a sad excuse for a human being.
Normally we don't see this side of the story. All we see is "Vicious Pit Bull Attack" but I would bet my life on it that a lot of stories are just like this. Don't forget about the OTHER side of the story. Just because the media does, doesn't mean that we have to.
